Social Programme

Included in the English Plus Rugby course is a social programme of 2 evening activities and one full day trip per week.

Evening Activities

Evening events include Laser Quest, tenpin bowling, ice skating and other activities of this nature. The trips usually depart by coach from a central location and last from approximately 7pm – 10pm. Your homestay family will drop you at the meeting point and pick you up afterwards.

Day trip to Twickenham Stadium

We offer a full day weekend trip to the home of English rugby, Twickenham, the largest rugby stadium in the world. Due to pre-arranged events at Twickenham this trip is ‘subject to availability’. The tour includes a visit to the World Rugby Museum led by qualified guides – a fantastic experience for the rugby fan! For more information on Twickenham click here.

The trip to Twickenham is scheduled every two weeks (subject to availability at the stadium) so it will fall either in the middle weekend or the final weekend of your course. For the other weekend there will be a trip scheduled to another destination – see below.

Full Day Trips

We have a variety of destinations on our list. There are exciting theme parks like Alton Towers and Drayton Manor Theme Park where you can get your adrenalin rush; there are famous places like Oxford, Bath and Manchester (great tour of the Manchester United Football Club for all you football fans); and there are cultural places like Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick Castle. And of course we have our very popular visit to Twickenham – above.

Worcester Warriors home games

And don’t forget as an added bonus, if there is a home match at Sixways during your course you are welcome to come along and enjoy the game at a discounted price. Worcester Warriors have kindly agreed to offer match day tickets to English Plus Rugby students at a great rate.
